JOHN AMOS – 81
American actor John Amos has been in the entertainment industry since 1970. However, his shot to stardom didn’t happen until he finished his degree in sociology from Colorado State University. There, John played for the Colorado State Rams football team. For a while, he began his career as an athlete. He had a contract with the American Football League’s Denver Broncos in 1964 and Kansas City Chiefs in 1967, but, as it turns out, his true calling was in the world of acting.
John’s first major television job was when he played the role of Gordy Howard on The Mary Tyler Moore Show from 1970 to 1973. He became widely popular for his portrayal of James Evans Sr. on the television series Good Times. One of his recent works includes a recurring role on The Ranch, a Netflix sitcom back in 2016. As of 2021, John is already 81 years old but still active and enjoying the rest of his days in comfort.
