Since Top Gun will have its sequel, Top Gun: Maverick, after almost three decades, many are asking who are the returning cast. Of course, Tom Cruise will be there as he is the lead cast, likewise Val Kilmer, but Kelly McGillis will not. Many are asking where Kelly McGillis is now. She reigned as one of the sought-after actresses in the late ’80s and ’90s. McGillis took several leading lady roles in films such as Made in Heaven, The House on The Carroll Street, and Top Gun.

McGillis might not maintain her popularity throughout the years and exits the spotlight, but the truth is, she never leaves the acting industry. McGillis works on several films and TV series as minor credits. She also works as an acting coach at The New York Studio for Stage and Screen. McGillis admits that she will not be returning in Top Gun: Maverick as Jennifer Connelly got the spot of Maverick’s love interest. She holds no hard feelings about it as she decided to be off the radar long ago.
