SAM NEILL – 73

Sam Neill began his career not as an actor but as a director in New Zealand. His first debut film was Sleeping Dogs which opened Neill to a whole new line of projects. He was also in the film, My Brilliant Career, which later led him to be playing the part of Damien in the movie, The Omen III: Final Conflict. Did you know that he was one of the choices to play 007 after Roger Moore? It did not push through as he lost out to Timothy Dalton.

To his credit, Neill still appeared in several box office hits, including The Hunt for Red October, Dead Calm, Memoirs of an Invisible Man, and Event Horizon. But it was in Jurassic Park that pushed him to fame as Dr. Allan Grant. He reprised his role in the sequel, which made him a great asset to Spielberg’s team.
