GIANNI VERSACE
The Versace Mansion, also known as the Casa Casuarina, is located in South Beach, Miami. It was owned by famed fashion designer Gianni Versace from 1992 until his passing. At present, it operates as a luxury boutique hotel and is open for people to visit. The Mediterranean Revival-style property was built back in the 1930s by Ronin Wolf for Alden Freeman. An enduring rumor surrounding the residence is that a time capsule was hidden in one of its many walls during construction.
When Versace bought the home, he added eight bedrooms, two kitchens, four living rooms, and a library, among other things. He also installed modern home security systems as well as central air-conditioning. With the help of Sir Roy Strong, a landscape designer and art historian, they created the property’s picturesque gardens. Strong also helped create the gardens in Versace’s Villa Fontanelle property in Italy.
