MARY PICKFORD

Canadian-American film star Mary Pickford had a career that spanned five decades. She was a pioneer in the movie industry and was one of the 36 founders of the renowned organization, Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences. She had more than 250 acting credits to her name.

In the 1920s, the actress and her then-husband, actor Douglas Fairbanks, owned a 25,243-square-feet property in Summit Drive, Beverly Hills. The couple reportedly purchased the property for $35,000, and it only contained a small hunting cabin and a backwood back then. The couple spent a fortune transforming the place into a magnificent mansion with 22 rooms and called their impressive new crib “PickFair.” In the following decades, the property was sold to an Israeli businessman who renovated the place. The mansion now has 17 bedrooms and 30 baths and was recently back on the market for $60 million!
