CLINT EASTWOOD

Clint Eastwood skyrocketed to fame for his credit role in Sergio Leone’s Dollars trilogy. In the 1970s and 1980s, he built his career by portraying macho characters, making him a Hollywood cultural icon. Outside acting, Eastwood served as a Mayor of Carmel-by-the-Sea in California during the late ’80s. He fell in love with the community to the degree that he bought the estate called The Mission Ranch.

Built in the 1850s, the farmhouse was transformed into a beautiful two-story property. Unknown to many, there’s also a fascinating story behind the renowned actor’s estate purchase. During the ’80s, a land developer initially planned to build condominiums within the historic area. Intending to preserve the ranch’s original beauty, Eastwood came to the rescue. He spent $5 million to buy the estate and save it from destruction. Well, he’s a public servant, after all!
