George Clooney is famous nowadays because of his marriage to Amar Clooney, an international human rights lawyer who has been making headlines herself. The actor, however, is quite popular in his own right, having won two Academy Awards after being nominated in six different categories. There are only three of them in this prestigious list—the others being Alfonso Cuaron and Brad Pitt.

A long-time bachelor, Clooney has been buying properties left and right, but now that there is a growing family, he has been seen purchasing those that could accommodate a much larger group of people. He owns a six-bedroom villa in Los Angeles, which he bought back in 1995 for about $1 million. This was the time he was just starting in the medical series ER. The place is relatively secluded, so the paparazzi are unlikely to linger around.  Clooney is proud of his 7,300 square-foot-home, which he showcased during an interview on Person to Person in 2012.
