I Now Pronounce You Chuck and Larry (2000)
“I Now Pronounce You Chuck and Larry” centers around two heterosexual men who feign a marriage to enable one of their children to access healthcare benefits. Not only does this premise involve insurance fraud, but it also displays insensitivity towards same-sex couples who have patiently awaited the opportunity to legally wed. The film also includes Rob Schneider portraying an Asian minister in a rather offensive manner.
This movie doesn’t warrant viewing for multiple compelling reasons. Another deterrent is that it belongs to the mid-2000s genre of buddy comedies featuring Adam Sandler and Kevin James. Individually, characters like Paul Blart and Happy Gilmore might already be questionable, but when their styles converge, the result becomes exceedingly unappealing.
