Despite the diverse roles he has portrayed on screen, Denzel Washington’s Christian faith holds a significant place in his life. In a 2012 interview with GQ magazine, he emphasized his dedication to his Christian beliefs by sharing that he reads his Bible daily.

Interestingly, Washington has even contemplated the idea that his true calling might be in preaching. In a 1999 interview with Parade magazine, he expressed, “I’ve had an opportunity to play great men and, through their words, to preach. I take what talent I’ve been given seriously, and I want to use it for good.” This statement underscores his earnest intention to utilize his acting talent as a means to positively impact others, in alignment with his Christian values.
